About Me: Qualifications and Training
I am a MBACP and UKCP-Registered Integrative Psychotherapist.
I currently work as a supervisor and an individual and couples/pairs therapist in Private Practice. I also work as a training supervisor and research tutor/dissertation supervisor in a psychotherapy training organisation and as a supervisor in a Low-Cost Counselling Service. Previously, I worked as an Honorary Psychotherapist in a Severe & Complex Care Team within the NHS, and as a volunteer student/staff counsellor at CityLit.
I hold a Diploma and a Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling,
awarded by The Minster Centre, www.minstercentre.org.uk (in conjunction with Middlesex University), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Working with the Couple in Mind awarded by Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) and a Certificate in Supervision awarded by The Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP).
My degrees and training have been fully accredited by the BACP and the UKCP.
As a registered member of both professional bodies, I follow both the
BACP Codes of Ethical Practice and the UKCP's Ethical Practice and Codes of Professional Conduct. My Supervision Course is also recognised by the BAPPS and UKCP.
My primary five-year training in psychotherapy concentrated on:
Object Relations (how we internalise our earliest relationships); Humanistic principles;
Body Psychotherapy; Attachment Theory (how we bond with our caregivers and significant others),
Diversity (race, age, religion, culture, class and sexuality); Relational Psychoanalysis; Integration;
and Psychological Developments in Neuroscience.
